When faced with dramatic economic issues nothing is a given. It is both frightening and—if you can step back a bit— interesting. Frightening in that even the most sacred of things are being cut or discontinued. Those very things that were high quality and producing good results…
The interesting part is how will we as designers and innovators pick up the pieces and re-invent ourselves.
The good news—if you can call it that—is that in the face of adversity design has historically flourished. So amidst all the bad news I still find myself thinking about what can I focus on that makes sense, that has that transformational—not incremental—change potential.
And, I often think about the saying that the solution is in the problem…
